Dictionary

This article is part of a series of articles on flight training in the United States. We examine here one of the tools used in the Most curricula flight instruction, the online dictionary of aviation. The recipient of such a tool is essential student pilot. But as flight instructors, and even aerospace engineers can benefit from an online dictionary very effective aviation.
The web developer or webmaster, who was given the task of creating an aviation online dictionary, should also find the following information useful. Here, we characterize the elements that produce a very efficient aviation dictionary online, and we provide a list dictionaries aviation row with a good discussion on these dictionaries. So what are the components of an effective aviation dictionary?
First and foremost, a dictionary of aviation should be comprehensive, but not as complete as the student pilot and flight instructor, must watch Conditions throughout the aerospace many to find words that are basic to flight training. But also, it should be fairly complete for students in aerospace engineering, so that at least the basic terms of aerospace engineering can be found. Therefore, Dictionary of aviation should be a balance between words typically found in a program of flight training, and terms commonly used by the aviation industry engineering student.
Many believe that a dictionary for aviation should have a research component incorporated. It really depends on the degree of completeness of the dictionary of aviation. Even if a component of research may be useful to some, visitors are likely to prefer to see terms placed on a page the same way they are in a book. So the decision as to whether if the dictionary must have a search component really comes down to how many sentences are in the dictionary of aviation. A dictionary that has a very large number of terms should probably have a research component.
It should also be noted that both a dictionary for aviation and Dictionary of aeronautics should have lots of common terms. For example, the terms used to describe the lift force produced by a wing is found in both dictionaries. But in mathematical terms, the laws of physics, and theorems used to describe lift may only be found in a dictionary of aeronautics, or more precisely an encyclopedia of aerospace. Another words, a detailed mathematical explanation strength of the lift is not necessary in a dictionary of aviation.
In addition, a dictionary for aviation is not an encyclopedia of aviation. An encyclopedia provides a description much longer. Terms of Aviation is in Wikipedia, and a long description is given to those terms. For example, the lift of the term in Wikipedia wing consists of a full page of information from a Review of Newton's laws to the Kutta-Joukowski. On the other hand, a dictionary for aviation should describe wing lift in one or two sentences. So, a good dictionary of aviation must provide a description in a few sentences.
Some other points should be made in terms of creation a good online dictionary for aviation. A good online dictionary aircraft should be composed of images, at least in terms most commonly used. In addition, a dictionary of aviation can be part of a large site of aviation, or exist on its own as site. And, if not a search engine, it should be easily navigated so that terms can be found quickly.
Finally, and importantly, the pages that make up a dictionary for aviation should not be loaded with unnecessary objects and scripts that are slowing the loading Page. There's nothing more annoying to the visitor of any online dictionary, so slow loading pages. Therefore, pages aviation dictionary should be light and base to allow Quick Look in terms of aviation. Word has it that in 2010, Google will be incorporating speed of loading the page in their search algorithm. Thus, maintaining the speed of page loads fast, may in the future with the all important rankings Google.
Why is this information important aviation dictionary? For the manufacturer of a dictionary for aviation, it is important the structure of the site so that it integrates the material presented here. For the student who is in a program of flight training, it is important choose a dictionary of aviation that also incorporates these elements.
The following is a list of dictionaries Aviation People Found online:
alphadictionary.com /
aviastar.org / dictionary_eng.html
dictionary.babylon.com / science / aviation
aviationdictionary.org /
datwiki.net /
naa.edu
pilotportalusa.atspace.com / aviation_dictionary_a.html
In terms of dictionaries Air mentioned above, we found datwiki.net to be comprehensive, with a fast search engine. In addition, a dictionary babylon.com was very effective Aviation which included a search engine capabilities and language translation. AlphaDictionary.com has also been very effective because they integrate a search of 1065 dictionaries at once when placing a term in the search component. After placement of a search term into their search engine you get a list of dictionaries that include the term. The draw back to this method is that it takes more time when searching for a definition.
Aviastar.org page provides a list of single words. Aviationdictionary.org is very comprehensive and had a fast search engine, and had more acronyms, then the other dictionaries online aviation. Naa.edu had a good list of aviation type dictionary without a search engine, and it seems very complete, although I think their site looks more professional without the annoying music on their homepages. Finally, pilotportalusa.atspace.com / aviation_dictionary_a.html was complete, a type of list, with many pictures.
Finally, the constructor of a Dictionary of Aviation is expected to produce a high level of completeness, but not full, to allow incorporation of images on each page, make sure each page is easily navigated to all pages of the dictionary, and most importantly, make sure that each page loads quickly, even for visitors who must use a slow Internet connection. A dictionary Online Aviation is an integral component of any program of flight training. Student pilots, flight instructors, engineers in the aerospace, or someone who has an interest in aviation, all recipients of utility Aviation dictionary.
